Connecting WHMCS for billing

WHMCS is the hub for many hosting and services businesses. Connecting it lets flyhelpdesk import your clients and tickets and look customers up on demand.

Get WHMCS API credentials

In WHMCS admin, create an API credential (identifier + secret) with access to the client and ticket endpoints. You'll also need your WHMCS base URL.

Store the credentials

Enter them in Admin → Settings under the integrations section:

  • WHMCS URL
  • WHMCS identifier
  • WHMCS secret (a masked secret — only saved when you re-type it; clearing it turns the connection off)

Everything is stored securely per workspace — no files or server access involved.

Import your data

Once the credentials are saved, open the Import wizard (Admin → Import & migrate), choose WHMCS, and run a preview then the import. Clients come across as companies and contacts; tickets and replies become tickets and timeline entries, with statuses and priorities mapped. It's idempotent, so re-running only brings across what's new.

Live lookups

Beyond bulk import, flyhelpdesk can look a client up live — by email — so an agent can pull up a customer's billing context straight from their email address on a ticket.

Tips

  • Lock the WHMCS API credential to the smallest set of permissions it needs.
  • Re-run the WHMCS import from the wizard whenever you want to bring newly-created clients and tickets across.
